There have been hints before that Barack Obama’s beliefs might not be the same as those of John F. Kennedy or Ronald Reagan or many other presidents, what with his choice of “Forward” – a common theme for communists and Marxists – as a campaign slogan this year.

Then there are his references to the top 1 percent “oppressing” the 99 percent. And his “You didn’t built that” philosophy.

Those are on top of transparently “progressive” actions and policies during his first term that have had government take over private car companies, dump billions into the laps of “green” company owners and impose a government-controlled health care system on citizens.

And don’t forget his “spread the wealth” philosophy.

But would documenting all these influences and linking them back to their sources and explaining them to voters really make a difference in the coming election?

Without a doubt, according to the response to the distribution by filmmaker Joel Gilbert of millions of copies of his full-length documentary “Dreams from My Real Father” to households in key swing states.

Most recently he sent 1.5 million to Florida, 700,000 to Colorado and 500,000 to Iowa. The distribution follows a mailing last month in which Gilbert sent 1.38 million DVDs of “Dreams from My Real Father” to households in swing-state Ohio along with 100,000 to New Hampshire and 80,000 to Nevada.

He told WND today another 3 million soon will be going out.

Gilbert argues in the documentary that Frank Marshall Davis, the radical poet and journalist who was a card-carrying member of the Communist Party USA, was the real, biological and ideological father of Barack Obama, not Barack Obama, the Kenyan, who came from Africa in 1959 to attend the University of Hawaii in Honolulu.

“Barack Obama built his political career on personal appeal – the son of a Kenyan goat herder who stood above politics,” Gilbert explained. But he said that’s not who Barack Obama really is.

Gilbert told WND the direct mail program aims to bypass the establishment media blackout on his film.

It appears to be working.

From Ron Kennedy, who received one of those DVDs sent to Florida: “Right now my head is spinning with different emotions feeling of anger and betrayal … feeling of anxiety for America’s future … feeling of a bit of skepticism.

“Can it be? Our current president sought out Marxism (like a moth drawn toward a flame) at every opportunity throughout his educational and professional career?”

Wrote Pearl Strauss, who said she has handed out copies to churches and others: “I purchased copies from Amazon until I ran out of money,” she said.

“It is scaring my socks off,” said Diana Stone. “I’m telling everybody I know to get it and watch it.”

“This finally makes sense,” said Vicky Bevis. “Your video finally makes sense to me of all the machinations surrounding B.O.”

  • From Jana O’Dell: “Am absolutely floored by the coverup and BS that has led Obama to be our president. I wish everyone voting this November would get this movie and watch it.”
  • “This is the ‘Swiftboat’ that hopefully will sink this ‘rats nest’ of Communist Marxists,” wrote Lois Jesek.
  • “I am now not an undecided independent. I will vote for Romney,” said MS Freedman.
  • “You frightened me for myself, my family and my country,” said Alex Thoben.
  • “I just watched … and am quite unnerved. This film is consistent with virtually all the things I have concluded about Obama since he was elected,” said Richard Andrews.
  • Chuck Kozak, a former U.S. Senate candidate, said, “My neighbor, who is half Rino (Republican In Name Only) and half Obama nuts, came to my door about two weeks ago white as a ghost with a copy of the DVD in her hand insisting we see it. Of course we told her we had some time ago. She said she and her husband played it and didn’t move a muscle for the whole hour and a half. When it was over they were so shaken they could hardly speak. … They now have the only Romney sign on our street.”
  • “Thank God someone is awake in this country. Shocked by this deception and sickened,” said Elizabeth Newell.

Gilbert told WND the newest shipments are going to Pennsylvania, Virginia, Wisconsin and Illinois.

“It’s shocking that in the land of the First Amendment, in the ‘information age’ no less, a state of censorship exists on so many levels in the American media today,” Gilbert said.

He said as long as the major media “refuse to cover my film, we are going to continue this publicity campaign by shipping DVDs state-by-state, million-by-million, until the media covers the findings in ‘Dreams from My Real Father.'”

“‘Dreams from My Real Father’ demonstrates that Obama has a deeply disturbing family background, which he intentionally obscured, to hide a Marxist political foundation. Dreams from My Real father is the story Barack Obama should have told, revealing his true agenda for ‘fundamentally transforming America.'”

Gilbert shows how Obama sold himself to America as the multicultural ideal, a man who stood above politics. His father was a goat herder from Kenya, he told the electorate in 2008, so he would bring people together. Folks perceived Obama as a nice man with an inspiring family story. In reality, Obama intentionally hid a deeply disturbing family background and a Marxist indoctrination in his youth, Gilbert explains.

He said while voters will overlook some fudging by politicians, promoting a false family background to hide an agenda irreconcilable with American values is a totally unacceptable manipulation of the electorate.

Actually, a few media outlets are starting to take notice.

David Weigel at Slate wrote that he’d seen people handing out the videos at a Wisconsin political event.

“I didn’t see many Ryan fans picking them up,” he reported.

At PJ Media, there’s a report that former Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland blasted the distribution of Gilbert’s information as a “dirty trick.”

And he admitted it may have a “slight impact.”

Michelle Goldberg at Daily Beast described its explanations as “vulgar.”

“What matters here is not that a lone crank made a vulgar conspiracy video, one that outdoes even birther propaganda in its lunacy and bad taste. It’s that the video is finding an audience on the right,” she wrote.

Gilbert told WND that his DVD has been at the top of the charts since first released, including the No. 1 spot on’s documentary list for weeks.

Establishment media also are reluctant to cover his findings, he said, because it would expose them for not having done their job of investigating Obama’s background.

“Barack Obama must now come clean,” Gilbert insisted. “Instead of misrepresenting himself as he did in 2008, Obama should say, ‘My father was a Communist Party propagandist and suspected Soviet agent who indoctrinated me into Marxist ideology in my formative years. Please vote for me so I can destroy the American middle class and create a one-party political system.'”

Gilbert emphasized the extensive research backing the claims made in his film.

“I have been to Hawaii twice researching Obama’s inspiring family story of a Kenyan goat herder father. That is twice as many times as all of the mainstream media combined! Who could have imagined that news organizations with hundreds of reporters, and multi-million dollar budgets, wouldn’t investigate a presidential candidate’s background in 2008 and would ignore doing so again in 2012?”

His research extended to examine Chicago and the roots of the Frank Marshall Davis ideology.

“Davis joined the Communist party in Chicago, only 15 years after the Bolshevik Revolution,” Gilbert said. “You can hear the classic Marxism in Obama’s campaign, the ‘top 1 percent oppressing the 99 percent,’ and ‘you didn’t build your business, it was done on the backs of the proletariat,’ and so on. Marxism is a failed ideology that has no basis in fact in the American reality where the middle class has prospered and the issue of poverty is taken seriously.”

Gilbert said getting the American public to understand the official Obama nativity story is a fabrication will not be an easy task.

“Obama’s election was not a sudden political phenomenon,” he explained. “It was the culmination of an American socialist movement that Frank Marshall Davis nurtured in Chicago and Hawaii, and has been quietly infiltrating the U.S. economy, universities and media for decades.”

Gilbert described the mass production effort in a video:
