Just 34% of Paul backers in N.H. are Republicans

(INVESTOR’S BUSINESS DAILY) — Sen. John McCain may have lent his endorsement to Mitt Romney, but his campaign strategy has gone to Texas Rep. Ron Paul.

In 2000, McCain pulled off an upset win in New Hampshire’s Republican primary by drawing in people who don’t necessarily vote for the GOP: moderates, independents and liberals.

Paul is doing the same thing. The libertarian icon’s support is relatively weak with rank-and-file GOP voters but draws more non-Republican voters than any other candidate.
