Scripps Networks Interactive, Inc. ( SNI ) recently declared a quarterly dividend of 7.5 cents per share, which was paid out on Dec 10. The company boasts an industry-leading dividend yield of 0.70%. Company Description Scripps Networks Interactive, Inc. develops lifestyle-oriented content for television and the Internet. The company's media portfolio includes: Lifestyle Media, with popular lifestyle television and Internet brands HGTV, DIY Network, Food Network, Travel Channel, Fine Living Network (FLN) and country music network Great American Country (GAC) ; and Interactive Services, with leading online search and comparison shopping services, Bizrate and Beso. Recent Events The company recently announced the sale of its uSwitch.com, the United Kingdom's leading online energy price comparison and switching service, to Forward Internet Group. Scripps said terms of the sale are not being immediately disclosed. Scripps also recently stated that it and Cox Communications completed a transaction to form a joint venture for the ownership and management of Travel Channel Media. Scripps noted that it now holds a majority and controlling 65% interest in the Travel Channel, and Cox Communications retains a 35% stake in the network. "Travel Channel gives us a third major lifestyle franchise that is fully-distributed and nationally recognized, with potential revenue upside through increasing ad sales and affiliate fees as well as international opportunities," said Kenneth W. Lowe, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Scripps Networks Interactive. "We look forward to building on the momentum and strong brand identity that the team at Travel Channel and our partners at Cox Communications have created." Rewarding Shareholders Scripps recently declared a quarterly dividend of 7.5 cents per share, which was paid out on Dec 10. The company boasts an industry-leading dividend yield of 0.70%. Solid Quarterly Results and Strong Momentum The company saw third-quarter earnings of 39 cents, surpassing the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 5%. Revenue was flat in comparison to last year's $364 million. "Scripps Networks Interactive had a solid third quarter, delivering revenue and segment profit growth in the midst of the challenging macro-economic environment," said Kenneth W. Lowe, chairman, president and chief executive officer. "An improving advertising market for cable television networks and double-digit growth in affiliate fee revenue drove the company's consolidated results.
