Poor John

Monday, December 3rd, 2012

Dear Ray Comfort,

I just watched your trailer for the Beatles video and was stunned at the callousness of the people interviewed. I remember the Beatles very well, having grown up in the late ’50s as the music industry was changing. I met all four Beatles by chance at an airport with my parents when I was very young. They had just finished a concert and were on their way somewhere. The encounter lasted for just a few minutes but I remember it like it was yesterday.

I was saddened when John was murdered in 1980 but not surprised. I remember reading his last intervie ... continue reading »

Bring Brits' health system across the pond

Monday, December 3rd, 2012

It should be obvious to everyone that America needs a decent health-care scheme. But this repeated knocking of the British health-care system is just not true.

As an example, my father-in-law was taken violently ill at 8 p.m. on a Sunday evening. The doctor was sent for; he arrived in 10 minutes. Ten minutes later an ambulance arrives, and he is taken into the local hospital. Two hours later he is operated on for gallstones. Is that fast enough? Oh, by the way, all free.

Another example of the awful system we have here: I know of a medication here that costs $2,700 for 30 tablets – in the U.K. it is free, but the health sch ... continue reading »

I've got your 'change'

Sunday, December 2nd, 2012

What can be done to correct the vote fraud for the next election? Major work must be done all over this country to preserve the sanctity of the voting process.

It is a disgrace that a nation like ours can’t have a standardized system. We also make sure that all legitimate voters votes count, especially our servicemen and women.

Nonpartisan people should be running the polling places. There should be no more early voting or provisional voting. Absentee ballots should only be for those who will be out of the country or their state. No more voting twice, and registration for all should be the same.

It is time for a ... continue reading »

What about Obama Sr.'s multiple wives?

Sunday, December 2nd, 2012

A question I never see addressed is that Barack Obama’s father had multiple wives. I believe I read that he was married in Kenya prior to his “marriage” to Barack’s mother. If there was no divorce from the Kenyan wife, which I have never read happened, he would, in fact, be a bigamist and Barack a bastard.

Thus, he would not be legitimate issue of two parents, much less two American parents. Am I off the rails here?

Keyes is right

Friday, November 30th, 2012

For those one-liner GOP troll cheerleaders who just didn’t get that it’s not all about being on the team, no matter how that team evolves season to season, they should read an Alan Keyes column or two ["Now's the time to fight pallbearers of liberty"].

It’s easy to write a column for a Rush, Levin or a Hannity because they always fall back to, “At least we’re better than those Marxits” – but that one sentiment has forgiven everything the GOP has evolved to become immoral about to the exclusion of only fiscal issues.

Foreign-affairs amateurs

Friday, November 30th, 2012

In this story it is reported that a “nuclear-armed Iran much is closer than assumed by the Obama administration.” What else is new? This administration is always a day late and a dollar short on everything it does, especially in foreign affairs. Everything for Obama seems to be mildly reactionary vs. proactive. I sometimes wonder if he even listens to his staff of advisers or the intel that comes in on a daily if not hourly basis.
