WASHINGTON – The Republican Party, whose congressional leaders often are in conflict with their conservative base and now have been accused of being backed by “Hillary and Obama donors,” will fail, as will the United States, if it doesn’t pursue President Trump’s agenda.
The warning comes from former U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., who said in an interview with WND that the GOP must stop capitulating to Democrats and their cohorts in Hollywood and the news media and begin enacting the president’s “American agenda.”
An effort to oust Republican-establishment incumbents led by former Trump chief strategist and current head of Breitbart News Steve Bannon is critical to saving country, Bachman told WND at the 2017 Values Voter Summit.
The anti-establishment movement “is the only thing that is going to help save all of the gains that [conservatives] made.”
“It is unthinkable and unforgivable that Hillary Clinton donors – Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama donors – are now donating to the Republican leadership,” she said. “So, whose tune are these Republican leaders dancing to? Are they dancing to the voters who put them in office – based on all their campaign promises? Or are they dancing to the tune of Hillary and Barack Obama’s donors?
“It’s Hillary and Barack Obama’s donors.”
But it isn’t the big donors who ultimately will decide, she emphasized.
“It isn’t money that’s going to make the world go around; it’s honestly the voters. All they have to do is enact the agenda that Donald Trump ran on – seal the borders, build a wall and deport 40 percent of the illegal aliens who are in our country on visa overstays. Make sure you keep radical Islam out of the United States and pass a clean repeal of Obamacare,” said Bachmann.
“You do that, you’re on your way to the future,” she said. “Then make sure that you support Israel, make sure that you are defunding Planned Parenthood, and what President Trump did brilliantly this week – make sure that you have religious liberty – then, they can’t lose.
“That is an American agenda. If they [choose] the American agenda that President Trump articulated, they’re going to win for a long, long time,” she said.
The Republican Party, Bachmann said, is not facing reality.
“They’re living in this bubble, it’s like a house of mirrors, and all they do is build it themselves. They better get out of that bubble and look at this magnificent nation and what they’re about to give up, because they will be defeated. They will lose their majorities,” she said.
Corruption scandals have piled up for Democrats in recent years, including Benghazi, Hillary Clinton’s email, the Clinton Foundation, the Awan brothers, the DNC’s rigging of the Democratic primary against Bernie Sanders and the Obama administration’s “unmasking” of Trump’s campaign officials.
Nevertheless, Democrats, intent on getting rid of President Trump through their Russia probe, remain unscathed and aren’t held accountable because Republicans are cowards, Bachmann asserted.
“They lack courage; that is the scarcest commodity on Capitol Hill. They lack it because number one, they don’t want to be seen as controversial. They do want to get re-elected. They know that a lot of people back home don’t like controversy, so they want to stay away from controversy,” she said.
Americans should be alarmed that intelligence agencies determined in mere hours that the Las Vegas massacre wasn’t a terrorist attack while they have spent more than a year probing Trump administration officials for allegedly colluding with Russia to rig the 2016 election, Bachman said.
“All of the investigating they’ve been doing is into Donald Trump and this phony Russia connection – more than a year later, the FBI hasn’t found anything,” she said. “Well – in Los Vegas, in about three hours the FBI comes out and says, ‘No terrorism here, no terrorism here.’ They can definitively say that … when they haven’t even examined his cell phone or gone to his houses. There is something seriously wrong in D.C. What they should be investigating is a secretary of state, who exposed in real time, for four years, the most sensitive, classified secrets of the nation.”
If conservative leaders don’t listen to the voters who elected them, the “magnificent foundation of this nation” will be “eroded,” Bachmann said.
“This country won’t always be the way it is. And that’s one thing I think all of us do need to understand. We could lose this country; we can lose it fast. All you have to do is look at Europe. According to experts in Europe, in 30 or 40 years, Europe isn’t going to exist anymore. Christianity will be extinguished,” she said.
She wondered: What will America’s foreign policy be when there are no allies in Europe?
“If we are on offense with the Judeo-Christian point of view, we will be steamrolled because there are people who want to steamroll us,” she continued. “People who are in Congress take too lightly this magnificent foundation of this nation. It can be eroded. I thank God for all of WND’s viewers who came out and voted and want to hang onto this great country – they need to start listening to your viewers.”
After President Trump contended that NFL players should be fired for kneeling for the national anthem before games, Democrats made the comments all about race. Rep. Al Green, D-Texas, presented a resolution to impeach the commander-in-chief, claiming he incited bigotry, racism and engendered “stealthy sexism” by calling on NFL players to stand for the anthem.
Just weeks ago, another Democratic congressman, Rep. Steve Cohen, D-Tenn., made similar claims against the president.
But Bachmann insists it is “racist” Democrats, who claim Trump advocates white supremacy, who are winning the culture war because GOP lawmakers are not standing up to the “race-baiting community.”
“Just tell the truth because the truth is we are one blood. There aren’t races. There is only one race – the human race, one blood. Really, the melanin that is in her skin tone is irrelevant – that has nothing to do with who we are as human beings,” Bachmann said.
“It’s so racist the way the Democrats are trying to constantly trying to categorize us by skin tone – that isn’t even scientific – because we are one blood, one human race. For anyone to say anything different is itself racist. We need to stand up to these bullies and the whole race-baiting community and tell them, ‘Look I’m a part of one race and one blood; what are you?'”
