It's time to wish a Happy Ramadan to all peaceful Muslims worldwide – and even to those not so peaceful. There seems to be quite a number of them right now, and they're on a religious rampage – apparently, all in the name of the Ramadan month of peace.
As I write, London police and the British army, along with medical personnel and so many others, are in the midst of trying to make order out of the chaos on and around the London Bridge after another of those "random" attacks by so-called "peaceful" Muslims.
It was a typical Saturday evening with many people out and about, enjoying the weather and the social/restaurant scene, when suddenly a white truck came roaring across the bridge at 50 miles an hour and mowing-down people like bowling pins.
Then, at least three men jumped out on the street, armed with long knives. They began attacking, stabbing and slashing the throats of people on the street, in pubs and in shopping areas.
As they carried out their deadly rampage, they shouted, "This is for Allah."
It does make one wonder what kind of god encourages his followers to carry out such mayhem.
I guess you have to be a Muslim to understand.
It was pure chaos as people tried to escape the bloody terror while others tried to help people who were bleeding to death. As I write this, the toll stands at seven killed and at least 48 injured. Police report that three attackers were shot and killed by authorities. They're described as being of "Mediterranean descent" – how's that for studiously avoiding the dreaded term "Islamist"?!
Ramadan began on May 26, and so far there have been four attacks and more than 149 dead. The injured are in the hundreds. The latest is the current London Bridge attack, and the final toll of dead and injured is not complete.
The others included the attack in Baghdad on the ice cream shop, the car bomb in Afghanistan and the casino attack in the Philippines.
It's always interesting to see what politicians have to say about such incidents.
In London, Mayor Sadiq Khan called the bridge attack "deliberate and cowardly." He went on to say, "There is no justification for such barbaric acts."
You have to hand it to the man. He is truly profound.
This is the same man who said, after bombings in New York last fall, that the threat of such events is "part of living in a big city."
It appears that is what London must deal with. It is, after all, a "big city," and if anyone would know, it's Mayor Khan.
A day after people in London and elsewhere verbally crucified the United States and President Donald Trump for opting out of the Paris climate accord, and German leader Angela Merkel said Europe will have to go it alone from now on, without the U.S. – President Trump showed what a real leader he is.
His reaction to the London Bridge attack?
"Whatever the U.S. can do to help out in London and the UK, we will be there – we are with you. God bless."
A later comment: "We need to be smart, vigilant and tough. We need the courts to give us back our rights. We need the travel ban as an extra level of safety."
Good for him. At least he's concerned about the safety of American citizens, not like the early critics of his remark about the travel ban. They're already railing about it being a Muslim ban – which it is not. It limits travel from the countries that seem to be hosts to people who carry out such bloody rampages in the name of Allah.
Of course, those are the same people who don't want a wall along the Mexican border, conveniently ignoring that the bulk of our drug crimes and addictions are the result of drugs being brought into the country across and under our open order. The cartels love it. They seem to have free rein, and we allow it because so many of us don't want to limit anyone from getting into our country when and where they desire – international borders and the law be damned.
Of course, they're the same people who ignore reports by the Border Patrol of as many as 1,000 illegals "looking for a better life" and crossing the U.S.-Mexico border every day. There are people from every country in Central and South America as well as from across Europe, the Middle East and Asia. There's proof – including of many Muslims sneaking in – and the Qurans and Islamic dress found in our deserts are evidence.
It's interesting. The very people who rail against a "wall" are the same ones who have walls and fences around their homes and estates and have locks on the doors and windows of their homes and businesses as well as alarm systems.
Why is one protective device OK and another, to protect our country, not?
So, don't hold your breath. Ramadan isn't over, so it's likely there'll be another attack. Somewhere.
But even after that, the attacks on the West will continue because the goal of Islamist terrorists is to destroy the West and make the world an Islamist caliphate. In other words, they want control of everything.
And, if you don't like it? Tough.
Or to paraphrase the London mayor: Get used to it.
