What a week!
A week filled with the realities of terrorism and religion out of control.
A week filled with blood, mayhem, death and terror from Paris to Mali.
A week in which Pope Francis excoriated weapons makers as "cursed … criminals" and declared, "There is no justification" for any wars even referring to World War II as "useless slaughters."
A week in which the U.S. president continues to avoid taking real steps against militant Islamic terrorism, including refusing even to say those words, while at the same time continuing his campaign to disarm American citizens.
A week in which Hillary Clinton openly joined Obama in the denial of Muslims or Islam having anything to do with terrorism. Her quote: "Let's be clear: Islam is not our adversary. Muslims are peaceful and tolerant people and have nothing whatsoever to do with terrorism."
A week in which it was revealed that before U.S. forces bombed ISIL oil tankers, leaflets were dropped telling the truck drivers that air strikes were imminent, and they should run away.
A week in which it was further revealed that the administration goal for no civilian casualties in the fight against ISIS, U.S. pilots were effectively blocked from dropping fully 75 percent of their ordnance on selected targets. The Washington Free Beacon reported that a Pentagon official said, "The fact that aircraft go on missions and don't strike anything is not out of the norm."
A week in which it was revealed by Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., that Barack Obama has ignored 72 documented cases of terrorist activity by suspected Muslim immigrants in the United States since July of last year.
A week filled with political lies and obfuscations assisted by an obsequious media dedicated to going-along-to-get-along with the political powers that be.
A week filled with electioneering across this country, candidates from both parties vying for the victory that will give them power over the people.
A week in which GOP candidate Dr. Ben Carson ventured into the morality minefield and became the target of well-directed criticism. He was asked about the case of Terri Schiavo, the Florida woman who had food and water stopped after a long court battle and controversy that went all the way to the White House. The issue was Schiavo's mental condition. They stopped feeding her; it took her two weeks to die.
A week in which Carson talked about the medical treatment of such patients and that he is opposed to euthanasia, but, he went on to say that the ultimate controversy "was much ado about nothing." Oops!
A week that found another candidate doing what seems to be contagious lately and it's not a new exercise. It's called "walking back" something they said. It means they stepped into it with some thoughtless statement and had to "take it back" and "change it" so they look better in the eyes of the public.
A week in which Carson tried to do that, but not successfully. His polls took a hit.
All in all, a very busy week – one that left the people of the United States more and more unified in questioning the decisions of the man who is president and raising the very serious questions: Why doesn't he do more to protect our people and our country, and does he really care?
Last week, I asked if it isn't time to raise the "I" word in relation to Barack Obama. "Impeach" is the word, but the reality is that with this Congress, it will not happen.
But as the week progressed, other words were raised about Obama. One was "retire" – step down because of his confusing, contradictory and, too often, just plain questionable decisions. Remember, this is the man who said he would "lead from behind." I studied logic – what does that mean?
As the week progressed, more and more Americans wonder whether Barack Obama really has the best interests of the United States "first" on his list of things to do. He is supposed to be the leader of the free world, but it's clear that's virtually the last thing on his mind.
Remember when he called ISIS "a JV team"? Just before the attack on Paris, he said ISIS was contained. Even Secretary of State John Kerry said, "We are winning, and ISIS is losing." That was just before the Mali attack.
It was a week when French President Hollande said, "We will lead a war without pity."
It was a week when the Russians declared intent to send in thousands of troops to fight the battles that must be fought.
It was a week when terrorists' threats virtually shut down Belgium, but similar terrorist threats against the United States did nothing visible to the average American wondering what's going on in Barack Obama's head.
It was a week when more people are raising the "T" word – treason. Is that what's going on in this administration, and what do we do about it?
It was a week when Michelle Obama became Marie Antoinette – you know, "Let them eat cake."
In the aftermath of the Paris massacre, amid the grief and horror, did she express sympathy? No, she was dancing the Samba, celebrating the dance, wearing a sexy red dress and having a ball! Interestingly, coverage of that is now impossible to find.
It was a week when Americans finally realized they're in deep trouble.
