There he was again a couple nights ago.
Our illustrious leader, Barack Hussein Obama, lecturing the American people to work harder for tougher gun laws if they want to end a plague of violence in schools, military installations and in certain cities – all of which share one attribute: They don’t allow guns.
Makes sense, huh?
What we need are tougher laws – meaning more restrictions on firearms. But everywhere it’s tried we see the slaughter of the innocents.
“I have an idea,” says Obama. “Let’s keep doing the same thing over against and expect different results!”
Think about it, people: Where is the gun violence?
It’s in Washington, a city that does everything in its power to discourage law-abiding citizens from getting firearms. It’s in Chicago, a city that does everything in its power to discourage law-abiding citizens from getting firearms. It’s in Detroit, a city that does everything in its power to discourage law-abiding citizens from getting firearms.
It’s in schools across America that have been declared “gun-free zones,” meaning law-abiding citizens are not permitted to have them on the premises. It’s in movie theaters that have been declared “gun-free zones,” meaning law-abiding citizens are not permitted to have them on the premises. It’s in “secure” military installations that have inexplicably and illogically become “gun-free zones,” meaning law-abiding citizens are not permitted to have them on the premises.
These cities and institutions have followed to the letter Obama’s prescription – and they are the very places witnessing increases in gun violence.
“Sometimes I fear there is a creeping resignation that these tragedies are just somehow the way it is,” he said at the outdoor service at Marine Barracks Washington, less than three blocks from the base where three women and nine men died in the recent Navy Yard attack. “We must insist here today there is nothing normal about innocent men and women being gunned down where they work.”
He couldn’t be more wrong.
It is normal to see increases in gun violence against the innocent when you strip them of their means of self-protection. What is so difficult to understand about that? It literally invites gun violence from those who are not law-abiding and who desire to inflict harm on others.
Unlike many of my friends, I don’t believe Obama is stupid. Nor do I believe he is incompetent. I believe he has another motive to disarm Americans – one that has nothing to do with safety. It’s about control of the population from the top-down. This is going to sound brutishly harsh and judgmental, but, I believe, he is consciously using the escalation of violence his anti-gun policies knowingly and predictably cause to render the population helpless before a government with a monopoly on force.
Again, let’s look at who the shooter was in the Navy Yard attack.
He has repeatedly broken gun laws. He was never prosecuted.
He was stark, raving bonkers, and the Navy Yard was even warned about him by Rhode Island police. Nobody paid attention.
He used a shotgun, the kind of self-defense weapons recommended by none other than Vice President Joe Biden. He still managed to kill 12 people and injure many more.
Isn’t it obvious all of the prescriptions of the Obama administration and the gun-grabbing crowd are doing exactly what they are intended to do?
Obama said the U.S. military needs to do more to secure its facilities. Like what? What does the president do to protect himself from harm? He surrounds himself with highly trained armed agents. We wouldn’t want it any other way, right? Why doesn’t the same principle apply to other places we want to make secure?
He concluded with this old canard – that tips his hand as to his real and ultimate intentions: “No other advanced nation endures this kind of violence. None. What’s different in America is it’s easy to get your hands on a gun.”
Actually, throughout American history, it has been easy to get guns. The escalating gun violence has resulted in all the places where guns have been banned.
It’s true that America is unusual in the world for recognizing the inherent right of citizens to self-defense. They don’t have that in North Korea. They don’t have that in Cuba. They don’t have that in China.
But it’s also not true that other advanced nations have all gone down the road America has chosen in too many locations. Switzerland has more guns per capita than we do in the U.S. Yet there is little gun violence. Why? One reason is they don’t have “gun-free zones” there. Israel has more guns per capita than the U.S. Yet there is little gun violence. Why? One reason is they don’t have “gun-free zones” there, either.
Think about it. This is not rocket science.
Obama understands what he is doing. Do you?
